Software And AI Engineering Internship

At Vunoh, we're building the technology that powers how enterprises operate and we deploy it in live environments. We are looking for interns who are here to build real things.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will go through two phases that build on each other naturally.

Phase one: The tools you build here are used by our teams and clients, so the work is real from day one. Whether you already know Django and React or Vue, or you're picking them up for the first time, you will get genuinely fast and confident with the full stack, building real features, understanding the codebase, and reaching the point where you can ship independently. Alongside the core stack, you will pick up the modern production habits that make the difference between code that works locally and software that runs reliably in the real world, containerisation with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and AI-assisted development workflows.

Phase two: Once you can build with confidence, you will move into making those applications intelligent. No prior AI experience needed; if you can build with code and you're curious about what AI can do, you will learn how to embed it into what you build. You will integrate large language models, build automation pipelines, and develop data-driven features that make enterprise services smarter and more efficient and you do that in a real functioning environment, so the knowledge you gain is immediately applicable.

 

By the end of 12 weeks, you will have built real products end-to-end and presented a capstone project to a live evaluation panel.

Responsibilities

Web Development

1. Build and maintain full-stack web applications using Django and Vue or React that serve Vunoh's mission .
2. Design and implement REST APIs using Django REST Framework to connect frontend interfaces to backend logic and data.
3. Work with databases, authentication systems, and deployment pipelines to build production-ready applications.
4. Containerise applications using Docker and work within CI/CD pipelines to deploy code to live environments.
5. Apply professional development practices including environment management, version control workflows, and code review.
6. Collaborate with the Product and Operations teams to translate business requirements into working software.

AI Integration

1. Integrate commercial AI APIs into existing web applications to add intelligent features such as document processing, client query handling, and content automation.
2. Apply prompt engineering techniques to build reliable AI pipelines for classification, summarization, and generation tasks within Vunoh's workflows.
3. Extend AI capabilities beyond Vunoh's own applications by integrating intelligent features into existing custom systems and third-party business tools that client organisations already use turning off-the-shelf software into AI-powered workflows.
4. Learn and apply responsible AI principles, including awareness of model bias, fairness, and explainability, in the context of real integrations.
5. Document all applications and AI integrations to professional standards, including technical READMEs and inline documentation.
6. Scope, build, and present a capstone project to a live Vunoh evaluation panel in Week 12.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field from a recognised university;
2. Must have attained a grade B and above in high school;
3. Proficiency in Python or a clearly demonstrated ability to learn programming rapidly and independently;
4. Tech-savvy mindset with demonstrable experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Gemini for research, analysis, or content tasks;
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail;
6. Familiarity with data analysis, basic statistics, or machine learning concepts is an advantage;
7. A team player willing to learn, adapt, and work with minimum supervision;
8. Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills;
9. High levels of energy and enthusiasm with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Learning Opportunities

 

By the end of this internship, you will have gained hands-on experience building full-stack web applications with Django and Vue/React; designing and consuming REST APIs; integrating large language models and AI APIs into real products; prompt engineering and building structured AI pipelines; exploratory data analysis on real business datasets; responsible AI principles including bias detection and explainability; and full capstone project development and live panel presentation.
